Hi every Atlantis's fans !
We are proud to annonce the release of the PUBLIC VERSION for Atlantis The Lost Tales EXTENDED'S CUT EDITION !
It's now support EVERY LANGUAGES supported on the GOG Store. (English/French/Deutsch/Spanish/Italian)

This new version is a patch/update for the GOG Release.
You NEED to buy/own a copy of Atlantis from GOG Store in order to use the Extended's Cut Edition.

This new version, fix every bugs you can encounter on the GOG Release :

- Fix game too slow or too fast => now gameplay is smooth at 30fps (normal speed)
- Fix every hangs/freeze of the game => now everybody should enjoy the game without any problem
- Fix slow mini games => now mini games runs as normal !
- Fix every characters models => now no graphical bugs/glitches !
- Fix Boar (Ring/Blood) bug => now both can be taken at the same time !
- Fix every CD Swap errors => now no more return to windows when you go to the hangar

BUT also the Extended's Cut add lot of new content on the game :

- 30 new dialogues made by Cryo Interactive (included in the files but never used in the game before)
- 3 new cinematics (included in the files but never used in the game before)
- Muria's Music now used in Muria Area ! (Was made by Pierre Estève but never used by Cryo)
- VISIT MODE : Watch all cinematics of the game (LIKE PS1/SATURN versions !), listen to all musics of the game,
visit hidden area (Creon's secret room, stone cercle, flyer of the beginning of the game...) and of course free visit of all area of the game (all are linked, like Versailles, Egypt and others games from Cryo).

SETUP:

[0] First Reinstall Atlantis The Lost Tales from GOG Galaxy or Offline Installer
[1] Unzip AtlantisExtendedCutUpdaterForGOG.ZIP
[2] Launch AtlantisExtendedCutUpdaterForGOG.exe (run it as Administrator !)
[3] You can see the current directory of the game (Normally you don't need to change it)
[4] Delete all your saves, just click on "Delete all save files"
[5] Click on "Update to Extended's Cut Edition"
[5] Launch the game from the updater or with GOG Galaxy or desktop's shortcut or Atlantis.exe

Note: Only launch one time the updater, when it's patched, just start the game normally.

Hello again!

I am testing the new extended cut R1010 version from the launcher.

When I try to launch the game fullscreen with 1280x1024 resolution like you did and worked right, in my case it stretches the image and still provides a dullscreen stretched version - it does not keep the 1280x1024 resolution with black bars left and right like yours did.

Is that an issue with R1010? Should I try R1003?

Hi insomniacgr :bravo:

Make sure to select "Windowed Full" (it's the modern full screen on Windows games)
in Settings before launching the game.
This mode will force better the resolution selected on a Windowed fullscreen at the correct ratio.

Or if the full screen mode if better for your setup
make sure to select "Preserv Aspect Ratio" in the settings of your graphic card.
Like this you will have the correct aspect ratio.

If you have a nVidia Graphic Card i can explain to you how to activate "Preserv Aspect Ratio".

Salut,
je viens juste d'apprendre l'existence de cette mise à jour non officielle, la liste des nouveautés est alléchante. Actuellement j'utilise Linux, ce qui ne m'empêche pas de jouer à des jeux Windows grâce au logiciel Wine, un traducteur d'api entre le monde Windows et Linux. Cela fonctionne en général plutôt bien, les développeurs ont fait d'énormes progrès , à tel point que Valve a décidé de participer au développement afin de proposer les jeux de son catalogue Windows sous Linux.
Pour en revenir au jeu "Atlantis, secret d'un monde oublié", je l'ai acheté chez GOG et je l'ai installé avec Wine. Il se lance et fonctionne correctement. Pour le plein écran j'utilise le logiciel DxWnd, il adapte automatiquement le jeu à ma résolution tout en respectant le ratio.
Je viens d'écrire un script qui permet aux joueurs sous Linux d'installer "Atlantis, secret d'un monde oublié" en un clic et je souhaiterai intégrer ta mise à jour à ce script:

Ce script est destiné aux joueurs ayant acheté leur version du jeu chez GOG. D'ailleurs, lors de l'installation, le jeu est automatiquement téléchargé à partir des serveurs GOG (support officiel).
Maintenant pour en revenir à la mise à jour, j'ai essayé de l'installer sans succès...Pourrais tu me dire si le logiciel est développé en .NET? SI oui quelle version de .NET faut-il sur l'ordinateur pour que ta mise à jour se lance?

Bonjour legluondunet ;)

J'ai récemment corrigé le soucis rencontrés par certains utilisateurs de VM sous Linux/Mac et d'utilisateurs sur des Windows inférieur à Windows 10. Désormais le patch fonctionne parfaitement chez eux.
Il faut que tu télécharge la version spéciale pour GOG (celle sur mon forum était auparavant une ancienne version pour ceux n'ayant pas GOG, elle a été mise à jour en V1.1a tout récemment).

J'ai testé avec VmWare Workstation Pro avec un Windows 7 64 bits installé sous Ubuntu aucun soucis pour patcher le jeu avec mon programme et le faire tourner à la perfection.
Néanmoins tu peux me confirmer si ça tourne bien sous Wine une fois le jeu patché effectivement ça serai bien de savoir si c'est compatible. Si Wine le faisait tourner très bien auparavant alors il fonctionnera toujours très bien après la mise à jour.
Pas besoin d'utiliser DxWnd, j'utilise déjà ses librairies pour adapter aux résolutions 4:3, framerate etc qui sont incluses dans le jeu désormais. Il te suffit de patcher le jeu et te choisir dans les options la résolution voulu ;).

Tu dois effectivement installer la V4.6.1 du Framework .NET de Microsoft afin de faire fonctionner mon patch et ATLANTIS.EXE :

Une fois le jeu patché, tu lance simplement ATLANTIS.EXE :)

Je conseille fortement d'utiliser une Virtual Machine pour les utilisateurs de linux afin d'assurer une compatibilité 100%. Mais si ça fonctionne parfaitement sous Wine alors oublie ce que j'ai dis ;). N'hésite pas à le dire sur le forum ça servira aux autres.
VmWare Workstation est certifié fonctionner à 100% l'ayant testé sur plusieurs configurations linux et Windows.

Pour ceux utilisant Windows en vrai, il suffit juste d'utiliser Windows 7, 8, 8.1 ou 10, d'installer le jeu avec GOG puis le patcher avec mon programme. Ensuite il suffit de lancer ATLANTIS.EXE. Aucun besoin de Virtual Machine étant donné que mon patch rend parfaitement compatible le jeu avec les OS Windows récent. Néanmoins certain possesseurs de UltraBook avec carte graphique intégré auront besoin d'une VM avec Windows 7 pour émuler une meilleure carte graphique. Ceux possédant des cartes graphiques Nvidia/ATI aucunement besoin de VM :).

It was flawless! Just wanted to say a big thank you for the great work! I played at 25 FPS (original speed) 8-)

Have you unlocked the VISIT MODE in the game ?
To unlock it, just reload the last chapter, use your power-hand on the crystal on the ground and capture the beast.
After the last cutscene you will unlock this new mode.
In this mode, you can explore the entire world of Atlantis at your leisure, explore hidden area and listen to all musics and cutscenes.

I already made "Perfect Edition" for others Atlantis games.

Just to thank you once again for the extensive work you did on making this game so much more enjoyable (even more than in its original version). The latest version your released is flawless (especially compared to the buggy GOG version) and the added content makes it a much more complete experience than the original release from 1997!

I'm eager to test the newest patches you released for Atlantis 2, 3 & 4!

Yes i got many feedbacks from speedrunners about this new version. Before i wasn't aware this game can be speedrunned.
And also from Twitch Streamers, it was useful to find and fix some bugs during development.

But i don't think it's possible though to glitch the game (like Dune) to be faster.
In Atlantis 2 i found a possible exploit who allow to finish the game in few minutes, the game hold a variable who count state of the adventure. If the value of this variable is glitched it remove the trigger to avoid the possibility to move between planets.

Cet upgrade pour la version GOG permet-il d'obtenir
une aussi bonne qualité que dans ta version "Perfect Edition" ?

Pourquoi ne pas avoir continuer pour l'épisode II et III GOG ?

Tu as préféré faire des versions complètes "Perfect Edition".
Je me demandais pourquoi ce choix, plutôt que des patchs
avec upgrades inclus comme pour l'épisode I ?

Pourquoi ne pas avoir continuer pour l'épisode II et III GOG ?

Tu as préféré faire des versions complètes "Perfect Edition".
Je me demandais pourquoi ce choix, plutôt que des patchs
avec upgrades inclus comme pour l'épisode I ?

Il est moins à jour que celui de GOG, mais celui sur GOG aussi n'est pas à jour.
Il y avait quelques correctifs que j'avais prévu pour corriger quelques soucis qu'on m'avait remonté en 2019.
Manque de chance, entre temps, j'ai été pris par d'autres projets sous Unreal Engine 4 qui m'ont pris 99% de mon temps.

Donc pour le moment, seule la version GOG est la plus à jour.
Mais dès que possible les deux patchers seront remplacés par un patcher qui saura gérer les 3 premiers jeux.

Notamment dans Atlantis 3, le patcher permettra d'avoir les graphics "HD" (de l'époque) sur le jeu. Issu de la version DVD qui est plus rare et moins distribuée que la version CD et digitale. Il y aura aussi le mode DVD qui sera restauré sur la version PC, permettant de voir le jeu en version film interactive. Les développeurs ont laissé une partie du code dans le jeu PC mais incomplet, j'avais commencé à réécrire le code. Et bien sûr une compatibilité à 100% avec Windows 10/11 et tous les bugs corrigés. Et aussi ! (petit bonus), une restauration de dialogues beta (partielle) car je n'ai pas pu avoir tous les élements contrairement à Atlantis 1.

Dans Atlantis 2, le patcher corrigera tous les bugs, rendant le jeu parfaitement compatible Windows 10/11. Mais aussi débloquera le mode "Visite" du jeu. La map permettant d'avoir le mode visite est toujours dans les fichiers du jeu mais idem, incomplète et le code pour l'utiliser n'est pas fonctionnel. Le patcher restorera ça aussi.
