Changelog WiiFlow Mod : r663

Hey guys, just a new update for you which brings wiiflow to a really stable phase :)
Changes from r646 are that the help text from the about text moved to a new 'help' button in the home menu, also the wait message is now changed, the lags in the wait messages are gone, it now runs smooth, also random freezes are fixed on wait message end, the wait message also now takes less memory.
The next really cool thing is that background music now finally works perfectly fine, no more missing runs, also the code is smaller and takes less memory using a new search for music files.
If you had some strange broken banner sound, that revision should help you as well, crackling etc should be gone.
Fixed holding 'b' for source menu, now if you hold 'b' and press the d-pad plus/minus buttons the source menu won't show up until you release the 'b' button and hold it again with out pressing any other wiimote buttons, now we can hold 'b' for source menu even if wiimote gestures is enabled which means we should be able to remove 'b' on home button and 'b' on mode button.
Finally you can install wii games again, sorry that this feature was broken. Also you should be able to install disc 2 of a gamecube game again, codedumps should be gone.
Also the homebrew booter now got a higher compatility because of IOS58 and AHBPROT patch, programs like wiimc should work, also programs with linux kernel like the game kobo deluxe should boot without problems now.
Oh yea, and fixed wiiflow crash on installing gamecube games with ":" in name, fixed bug wiiflow retries to install a gamecube game which is already installed without possibility to stop it, disable full screen banner in plugin and homebrew coverflow, fixed booting wii games in neek2o mode and last but not least set wiiflow optimize level to -O3, that makes the dol around 4mb, but wiiflow now can use its maximum speed compared to the old dols.
That may be not much, but should improve wiiflows general usage alot.

So what to say about this rev, hmm...
At first, I hope you can understand there was no release the past 3 weeks, we have alot of problems with memory and wii games/channels, thats why I was trying several things out, that took quite a long time.
However, I think I now found a really good and stable solution for those problems, thats also the first change from r615, alot of more stability in wii game and wii channel booting.
Also, WiiFlow is now using the new magicwords for priiloader 0.8 beta 4, so we have compatility to exit wiiflow to system menu with priiloader installed.
Booting wii games from disc also should work fine again, also if the drive is old enough backup discs should work. Wii games from sd card also should work again, games like black ops also should work again (also multiplayer), cheats for DIOS-MIOS should work again.
The cover cache should be ALOT of more stable now, also with over 1000 games it should be no problem to use wiiflow.
If you use Devolution in wiiflow, and then exit devolution, it should return to wiiflow and not to the homebrew channel anymore.
Also, some wrong effects are changed in the default theme, so all design things should be correct now.
The JPG support is heavly improved now, you can use every JPG picture size in wiiflow, no matter what it is, wiiflow will make it to a cover :P
Everyone who uses a usb gecko to get the debug prints now should get clean and correct ones, they should not be fucked up again.
Some more things lol, fixed banner keeps playing on delete game, made the cIOS checks ALOT of faster, also the neek2o boot is alot of faster, added banner sound support for avatar and maybe more games, added looping of banner wav sound files, added support for banners without existing sound and fixed wiiflow reboot crashes after new theme selection.

r615

* La musique de fond refonctionne

* Support de DIOS-MIOS 2.1

gb
I was not sure if I should make a new release this week, since we've added alot of things, some not really tested, but I just decided to make it because we fixed enough bugs :P
The first big difference from r590 is support for older cIOS, you can now boot wii games with hermes and waninkokos cIOS again, also wiiflow should run with them instead of d2x only, emu nand and save emulation is d2x only still. Wiiflow now got stub IOS detection so it will not make some mistake and tries to start with a stub IOS.
The next thing is .jpg file support, now covers dont need to be .png only, you just should make sure the width and height are divisible with 4, so dont open up bugs with covers are not showing if it is 1090x680, just take a calculator and do 1090/4, gotcha? :P
Next thing is you now can boot channels via neek2o (r90+ required), that means you dont need to boot your neek2o setup to go into wiiflow neek mode, it should now work directly from real nand (enable Launch Title with neek2o in the game settings for it), that is not very well tested, so maybe if it doesnt work try it in the next release.
Also, the Devolution support is better, you can also start two disc games now, just place the second ISO into the folder of the first and rename it to gam1.iso.
WiiFlow also got a new wait animation, if you dont like it got to gbatemp.net wii tutorials section and check out the tutorial on how to change the animation by yourself.
The AUTO IOS selection changed a bit, it will now just use the currently loaded IOS if the game does not request IOS57.
To the main bugfixes, Wii and GameCube booting should work way better now (especially with Devolution), there was a fatal bug in setting video mode which may gave you no signal messages, also homebrew booting had a major bug, that is fixed now, Homebrew/Plugins should work way better than with r590. The background music problems should be gone for everyone now, I know it was sometimes missing, that should not happen at all anymore, no matter how much things you use. A bug with WBFS partitions is fixed as well, it started the games on the wrong way from it, d2x did not care about it, but older cIOS like waninkoko r17 do.
WiiFlow got a better HDD Compatility now, as well as (currently not used) USB Port 1 support.
The support for DIOS-MIOS 2.1 is added now, dm_r2.1+ in wiiflow.ini DML section (enabled by default), so you can now enable the new widescreen patch, the option is added to the game settings.
Some unneeded code lines are removed, debug messages are improved/corrected, and other minor bugs are fixed.

r590
So yea, after two weeks here is r590, we worked hard and long on this, alot of new thigs are in it, thats why it took two weeks again.
Changes to r522 are that we now have game banner support like GX, in short you see a small banner preview in the top right corner, if you click on it it zooms in. I also created a custom gamecube banner, so you have banner support in wii coverflow, gamecube coverflow and channel coverflow. WiiFlow will automatically create a cache for the games, see cache/banners folder. You can also use custom banners, just move the custom bnr files with either the game ID3 or the game ID6 into the custom_banners folder. If you enter the game setting the banner will play in fullscreen in the background, set a bit darker. You can disable that in the wiiflow.ini, banner_in_settings in GENERAL section. Second thing is WiiFlows size. You may noticed it got much bigger compared to the old rev. Thats not because of all the things we added, it is because I switched from optimize for size to optimize for speed to avoid memory corruption and slowdowns. All the things we added the two weeks take about 20kb ;) Third thing is Devolution support, you can use it very silimar to DIOS-MIOS, just get the Devolution source package and place the loader.bin which you find in the source package into your wiiflow folder, together with the cover folder, cache folder etc. Inside wiiflow you can then set per game if you want to use Devolution or DIOS-MIOS, if you set it to default it will use DIOS-MIOS for the GCReEX games (they only work in DIOS-MIOS) and Devolution for the regular games (if Devolution bin is found, otherwise it will be booted via DIOS-MIOS as well). Also, you can now use wiiflow in your neek installation, that means you can boot wiiflow via neek and then boot your wii channels using wiiflow, that gives a great compatility compared to the d2x nand emulation. Also if you can compile, you can create a dolphin-emu compatible dol, just comment in the #define DOLPHIN line in the defines.h and compile, then you can use it in dolphin with a emulated sd card. They are also alot of other changes, like replaced all button types from u32 to u16 (takes half the space), we dont need so much space since we dont even have so much buttons, fixed bug of wiiflow not going back to the game which last was selected in plugins coverflow, added a new Home button menu, you can update wiiflow, reload cache, enter settings and other things, also in the home menu theres a ExitTo menu, to open it just click on Exit To in Home menu, fixed possible bug in memory allocation (thanks megazig for hints how to debug better), fixed IOS Reload on game loading codedump, fixed bug in network init, fixed retail and backup wii disc reading and playing, fixed emu nand codedump on ios reload as well, fixed return to wiiflow on emu nand games, added possibility to set DIOS-MIOS video patching way, video_setting in wiiflow.ini [DML] section, if set to 0 it will disable all video settings of diosmios, if set to 1 it will use the auto setting (default) and if set to 2 it will force the video mode, only enable gc streaming if we actually boot a disc, fixed bug about booting gamecube discs, and maybe some more things which I forgot to list :P

r522
Yesterday I was not sure if its worth to upload a new rev because we did not do that much last week, but hey its a bit more stable so why not? ;)
Changes from r506 are that the help files are updated, now its really correct, added game info synopsis and about and multichoice buttons fix (thanks miigotu), changed game info genre to display the whole genre, changed theme choice button to not display in uppercase, changed video mode options, now should be more clear what they do, fixed bug of game crashing when selecting progressive as video mode, set down mem2 which wiiflow can use, that should make it more stable, fixed bug which broke cover loading in plugin coverflow for plugins where coverFolder is not set in the ini, if AUTO is selected for IOS selection, it either uses IOS56 or IOS57 as base, because the other d2x cIOS bases got problems to work properly with wiiflow, added new pal video mode to patch for pal2ntsc patch which hopefully makes it working better, added stfour and postloader to thanks list (sorry for forgetting to add you before)

r506
Things get even more stable in this release :)
Changes from r485 are that two graphical effects are fixed, some really stupid bug which prevented wiiflow from creating its initial folder structure and so you could never save any covers etc, fixed gamecube game usb to sd copier, changed a few things in mem2 memory management again, that fixes NTFS write issues, before sometimes covers could not be saved on a NTFS partition, reason is unknown still, moved sounds down to MEM1, that fixes some problems like strange beeping sounds on game loading, making some cosmetical changes, also corrected the order of how the homebrew channels are booted (now from newest to oldest if one was not found, before it was mixed), if you hold the b button for 3 seconds, it will now open up the source menu, if wiimote_gestures is enabled in wiiflow.ini, then the source menu is opened with pressing b on home icon still, otherwise just with holding it, now also the default english help file is included in wiiflow, means it doesnt display the error that no help file is found but just displays the default english help, fixed displaying help files with themes, only create folders if they doesnt exist, otherwise it spams our debug messages, fixed emu nand was not enabled in all cases now, also removed unneeded debug messages and only enable/disable emu if needed, added b_on_mode_to_source option to wiiflow.ini, if set to yes pressing 'b' on mode/view icon will take you to the source menu, added home menu, it will open if you press the home button/icon, currently you can access the settings from it, see the about screen, update wiiflow, reload cache and exit wiiflow (to exit wiiflow you can also just press home/start button again in this menu), removed reload cache with b button on settings icon, removed update button from about menu, added DIOS-MIOS support, also sync with dios-mios booter, now forcing video mode for gc games as well to may fix problems.

r485
Here is r485, some "stable" release again compared to r431.
Changes from r431 are a big code cleanup and speedup in game list cache building, please reload your cache by pressing the b button on the settings icon in wiiflow, the gametdb information now is only displayed in wii, gamecube and channels coverflow, scummvm covers now are displayed, fixed a few wii game video issues (see issue 65 for details), fixed display of help files in wiiflow/help folder, compressed all images yet again, fixed pointers displayed of players who are not connected to wiiflow for a few seconds, fixed problem of not reloading covers, only after moving it around a bit, more debug prints, fixed cache reloading of emu nand didnt work anymore, fixed plugin magic words in wiiflow.ini too short, disabled extended list check by default, removed limitations for MEM1 usage, moved lots of stuff from MEM1 to MEM2, possible to select partition for nand emulation, fixed GameTDB for nand emulation, fixed nand emulation itself, fixed two memory bugs, added download of plugin covers via gametdb (currently they are no covers in it, but its supported now, works with extracted games, zip and 7z files), fixed strange lines in wiiflow when returning from a game to wiiflow, fixed wrong percentage displayed when copying gamecube games from usb to sd which are in fst format, fixed a possible bug in deleting folders and files, fixed a little effect bug for ZHCN and AU flags, homebrew coverflow view now uses folder names instead of small and uppercase IDs for cover name and cache, fixed codedump for things like wiinnertag and dutag, setting the O in Okami to a regular one, fixed bug that emu nand channels didnt work properly after going through all coverflow views, more powerful detection if gamecube game is installed on sd card by reading the sd card directory, possibly fixed a few codedumps and freezes as well.

r431
This is a true WIP release, all reports about broken NAND Emulation will be deleted, its well known :P Its now broken for about two weeks (reason why they was no release last week) but now at least save emulation works.
Changes to r348 are that NAND extract and save emulation should work again (as said channel launching is still broken), added an Age Lock to the parental control menu, you can select an age from 2-19, where any game rated above is not displayed, it uses the age from the region of the game, 19 is all games. 2 is basically none, because the rating systems start at 3. You can override the rating by creating an age_lock.ini file. Just add the id under the domain heading and set it to an age, to set Call of Duty: Black Ops to an age of 5 you would enter this: "[GAMES] SC7E52=5"
The linker script now is finally gone, fixed fatal memory bugs, fixed a bug in ios reload, fixed a few greenscreens, fixed random flicker of previous images in wait message, fix for categories crashing in plugin coverflow, fixed missing background music, set up HDD cache, makes wiiflow alot of faster now, cleaned up and corrected whole wii game booting code, faster now, categories should be found faster now, made a few more and better debug prints, NSMBW and Prince of Persia now will be proper patched (may fixes problems for some people), fixed a few typos, made wait message faster and safer, fixed random codedump and problem if partition is set to -1 that it didnt set it to 0 (sd card) automatically, stop empty covers from being created, fixed case-sensitive OS compiling errors, limiting mem1 usage (still more than we use), moved quite alot things down to mem1, just faster, added some small check to see if path is valid, sometimes it codedumped on game path check, added option to select preferred plugin coverflow mode for plugins via source select menu, booting gamecube games should be faster too now, made homebrew booting more safe, shouldnt blackscreen or codedump anymore, added subdirectory reading for background music and plugin coverflow, enabled randomize_music by default, fix for plugin coverflow now it should show up right and be able to adjust it, fixed reading scummvm games from sd card, adjusted d-pad mode - now if you select the view you're already on it will show homebrew view, hopefully keep weird characters and names out of categories.ini, return to system menu should be a bit more safe now, added support for MPlayerCE (see new plugin pack update), homebrew now return to wiiflow too if the wad from the plugin pack v2 is installed, otherwise homebrew just returns to system menu, removed ios reload block disable, added possibility to delete files in plugin coverflow, changed wiiflows input, now doesnt reset cursor position if you click on some button, also if the cursor gets hidden the position doesnt reset anymore if you move it again, you can now use L and R on classic controller to fast scroll through covers and switch between menu pages instead of + and -, fixed bin and iso files not displayed in plugin coverflow, removed hide settings button if no game found to reload cache, removed ignore case in ntfs lib to show things properly, dont forget to reload cache if you use ntfs, made wiiflow smaller (its back on 3mb now), general code cleanup, all in all wiiflow is just faster now than before, but we are still not done with everything ;)

r348
Changes from r315 are that the broken return to system menu now works again, changed quite alot about memory usage and calls, fixed NAND emulation, fixed creation of nandpath and title.tmd for some games, fixed extraction of game saves for some games, cleaned up some code for NAND emulation, general huge code cleanup again, DML options are now written safe into memory, it cant break or something like that anymore in some cases, modified wifi_gecko to use UDP instead of TCP, you can get the wifi gecko reader exe from the source, Moved the following settings to [DEBUG] section: sd_write_log; wifi_gecko; wifi_gecko_ip; wifi_gecko_port, network now will be inited earlier, just that the wifi gecko gets all data, added feature to flash game saves on emu NAND back to real NAND, added button to extract save from NAND to game config menu, added button to flash save to NAND to game config menu, added optional startup select source menu. Just set startup_menu=yes under
[GENERAL] in wiiflow.ini. Access it at anytime by pressing '+' while pointing at the view switch icon, fixed coverflow being too slow in PAL50 video mode, added new options for plugin inis, "displayname", if you set it in for example the fceugx.ini to "nes" it will display "nes" instead of "fceugx" in plugins menu, wiiflow will now print more debug messages in general, fixed usb set -6 error, fixed memory bugs, things like downloading covers and internal wiiflow updates work properly starting with this rev, added GRB ratings, the wii drive light now should disable properly on game boot or wiiflow close.

r315
Changes from r280 are that you can set the wiimote rumble again in the wiiflow.ini, "rumble", enabled by default, the sd card log write works better now, libcustomntfs updated to 2012.1.15, bug in libcustomntfs is fixed too, means 3tb+ devices with ntfs partition works again, changed d-pad left from homebrew to emu, categories now work in emu coverflow too, you can now select the cover folder of plugins, if you want for example fceugx covers in "wiiflow/boxcovers/fceugx", then just add "coverFolder=fceugx" to the fceugx.ini, wiiflow uses the progressive patch for DML games now if you set pal 480p/ntsc 480p, works with DML v1.3+, auto IOS code is less buggy, the NAND can now be extracted directly in wiiflow, as well as game saves for NAND Emulator, added a new menu for it in the global settings, added uDraw icon, fixed bug that info so it does not show for games without any gameTDB info anymore, added help file support in wiiflow about, it goes to wiiflow/help, english.txt can be found in source, fixed wii game installer, game remover, installing wii games with 3tb+ devices, fixed some spelling mistakes in language, fixed problem that covers were not loading properly with only a few games in a coverflow view, new option in wiiflow.ini, "cover_use_hq", if enabled wiiflow will use HQ covers again, fixed bug in plugin code, maximum pixel size of covers can now be 1090, needed for some emu HQ covers, added plugin selection menu, you can use it in emu coverflow, then its in the global settings, means you can select the plugins you want to see finally, and last but not least a pretty huge code cleanup and speedup again :)

r280
Changes from r258 are that libext2fs is updated to 1.42, libfat to R4883, full 3tb support is now FINALLY in, you can launch wii games, install them etc, full DML v1.2+ support added, means you can set things like no disc patch, NMM again, wiiflow supports the new gamecube DML format created by GCReEx, also booting gamecube discs works fine with DML installed, the names in emulator coverflow are displayed without extension now, covers are still with it for security reasons, wiiflow is updated for devkitppc r26, compiling it with older versions may doesnt work properly, wiiflow got a new wait screen, you'll see by yourself ;) removed some unneeded code from the video, its faster now, added miigotus new cover loader because its faster than the old one, set down default cover buffer to 20, please check your wiiflow.ini and if you see "cover_buffer" is set to more then set it down to 20, it greatly speeds up wiiflow, also cover loading is added again if you are in game banner view, plugin loading now works better, it now no longer freeze or codedumps, added missing nand emu enable when pressing b on the nes emulator icon, fixed missing timeout if no usb hdd is detected, should work fine now and be more compatible, added new option in wiiflow.ini, "sd_write_log", if you set it to yes wiiflow will write a log file called "wiiflow.log" on the root of the sd card

r259
Changes from r239 are that numcategories is re-added so you can have less than 20 categories if you want, re-added categories per view, added press 'B' on fav icon on game selected screen to go directly to game categories just like pressing 'B' on fav icon on main menu, moved 'All'. Added emulator plugins support, see Downloads for the current plugin pack, it has got a new coverflow, you can decide the casecolor, banner sound, dol file to use, and which filetypes the emulator supports in a separate ini file, you can also make your own mods of emulators if you want. The plugin pack contains at the current state fceugx, genplusgx, scummvm, snes9xgx, vbagx and wii64. Covers are also supported for them, they need to have the same name as the rom file, for example if you have "mario.nes", then the cover need to have the name "mario.nes.png". Also added a special wiiflow loader dol file in the plugin pack, it can boot wiiflow from everywhere, its enabled in the emulator plugin ini by default to use it. DML games compressed with GCReEx are also detected now, you can use them as regular ones, it will also find the games on sd card. PAL 480p video mode works properly now, thanks to the new libogc git.

r239

The hidden channel wad to return to wiiflow needs to be installed, if you dont install it emulators will most likely freeze on exit. See the other plugin packs for more details.

Plugins Pack v3 for WiiFlow r431+
This pack features fceugx, snes9xgx and vbagx mod9, wii64, genplusgx and scummvm mod4, wiimednafen mod2 and mplayerce svn r673. Plugins Pack v2 Update for WiiFlow r431+
This Pack updates scummvm to mod3 and now adds WiiMednafen mod1 and mplayerce. WiiMednafen supports alot of rom types, I just included a few ones in the ini, feel free to integrate more. MPlayerCE can play much more too, the ini is just a sample one as well. ScummVM now can play from USB too and also return to wiiflow, WiiMednafen works perfectly fine too, returns to wiiflow and plays really much in just great speed. MPlayerCE should work fine as well, just make sure you extract the apps folder to the device root where wiiflow/plugins is too, otherwise it doesnt work proerly.

Plugins Pack v2
This Pack contains fceugx, snes9xgx and vbagx mod8, genplusgx and wii64 mod3 and scummvm mod1. To install, simply copy the content to your sd card or usb hdd. If you want that you can return to wiiflow, install the wad in the wad folder, its a hidden channel, that means you cant see it on the system menu or wii channel removal screen. To uninstall it, either uninstall the wad file or use any title deleter. Check out the ini files for cover paths, rom paths and file extensions. If you want to change something feel free to edit the ini files, wiiflow will accept your changes :) To get scummvm to work you need to first set up your scummvm games using the regular version and then copy the scummvm.ini into your wiiflow/plugins folder, then wiiflow will automatically detect them.

Plugins Pack 1 Update
This pack updates fceugx to mod7, snes9xgx to mod7, vbagx to mod7 and the Wiiflow Loader to v2 with 3tb+ support. It should fix the problem that the emulators return to system menu when trying to load a game.

Plugins_Pack
This plugins pack contains fceugx, genplusgx, scummvm, snes9xgx, vbagx and wii64 emulator dols, see r258 changelog. Copy this pack to "root:/wiiflow/plugins", I suggest to have the plugins folder on SD card, that is more compatible. You can edit the plugins path in the wiiflow.ini. If the filetypes are not enough, you can add new ones into the plugins ini.

[GENERAL]
dir_plugins=usb1:/wiiflow/plugins

ou

[GENERAL]
dir_plugins=sd:/wiiflow/plugins

bien sure tu dois avoir le pack de plugins (.dol et .ini) dans le dossier plugins.

ensuite tes roms doivent être ranger comme l'indique chaque .ini

(example) pour genplus.ini :

[PLUGIN]
romDir=genplus/roms/
